You may decide that you want to change the name of a tile; some tiles give you that ability. From the menu, select Configure Tile Settings (as shown in Figure 9.15).

After you choose Configure Tile Settings, you can then make any changes that you want to make and click Apply, as shown in Figure 9.16.

Delete a Tile
If you decide that you no longer want to have a tile on your dashboard, you can remove it (as shown in Figure 9.17). There are a couple ways to remove a tile from the dashboard:
■ In the upper- right corner of the tile, open the menu. Then choose Remove From Dashboard.
■ Click the Edit icon to go into the customization mode. Then, hover the cursor over the upper- right corner of the tile and click the Delete icon.

Cloning a Dashboard
As an administrator, you also have the ability to clone a dashboard, which allows you to quickly enable a new dashboard. You are basically using an existing dashboard as a template. In Exercise 9.5, I will show you the steps needed to clone a dashboard.
EXERCISE 9.5
Cloning a Dashboard
- Ensure that the dashboard view is the dashboard you want to clone.
- Click the Clone icon in the page header.
- A copy of the dashboard, which will be named Clone of <your dashboard name>, will open in edit mode. Then, continue to configure the dashboard how you’d like, rename it, and apply the changes.
Publish, Sharing, and Deleting a Dashboard
By default, whenever you create a dashboard, it will be private. As the administrator who creates the dashboard, you will be the only person who can view that dashboard unless you publish and share it. If you would like to share your dashboard with other users and allow those users to open it, you need to share the dashboard.
Exercise 9.6 will show you how to publish and share a dashboard with other administrators or users.
EXERCISE 9.6
Opening a Shared Dashboard
- Click the arrow next to the dashboard name you want to select.
- Then, select the dashboard from the list that is displayed. If the dashboard you want to open isn’t listed:
a. Click Browse All Dashboards (see Figure 9.18).
FIGURE 9.18 Browse All Dashboards
b. In the Type field, select Shared Dashboards.
c. You can then select one or more subscriptions. To filter dashboards by name, just enter text.
d. Select a dashboard from the list of shared dashboards.
You have the ability to delete a private or shared dashboard. Exercise 9.7 will show you how to delete a dashboard.
EXERCISE 9.7
Deleting a Dashboard
- Select the dashboard you want to delete from the list.
- On the page header, click the Delete icon.
- For a private dashboard, click OK (as shown in Figure 9.19) in the confirmation box. For a shared dashboard, in the confirmation box, select the option “This published dashboard will no longer be viewable by others.” Then, click OK.
FIGURE 9.19 Delete the Dashboard
You can recover a deleted dashboard within 14 days of the delete as long as you are an Azure Global Administrator and you deleted the published dashboard in the Azure portal.
